Hot Pastrami Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 slices caraway rye bread
- 1 slice provolone
- 1 slice Swiss cheese
- 4 ounces hot pastrami
- 2 to 3 ounces sauerkraut
- 2 to 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
Directions
Heat griddle or pan on medium heat. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Set the buttered side of bread on the griddle. Add provolone to one slice and Swiss to the other slice. Grill until bread is toasted and cheese has melted, approximately 5 minutes, then remove from the griddle. Meanwhile, place pastrami on the griddle in a pile and the sauerkraut on the griddle in a separate pile. Grill both until warm, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, then flip and warm the other side. Add mayonnaise to both pieces of bread, then add mustard to one half. Place half the pastrami on one slice and the other half on the other slice. Add sauerkraut to one half and flip the other slice on top.
Bagel Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 bagel.
- 60 grams cheese Thinly sliced mozzarella and aged cheddar.
- 20 grams butter or margarine
Directions
- Heat a frying pan or skillet over medium-low heat.
- Slice the bagel in half and butter the outside of each half. Place the halves butter side down, on a sheet of plastic wrap.
- Layer the cheese on the bottom half of the bagel. Top with the top half of the bagel, so that you have a sandwich with the outside buttered.
- Transfer the bagel sandwich to the hot pan, and fry for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. Flip, and fry for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Chopped BLT-ish Bagel
- 1 everything bagel
- 2 ounces chive and onion cream cheese, softened
- 3 slices crisp cooked bacon
- 2 leaves romaine lettuce
- 1 slice tomato
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 avocado, diced
Directions
- Toast bagel until golden brown, about 3 minutes.
- Meanwhile, slightly spread cream cheese on a cutting board. Add bacon, lettuce, and tomato on top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and chop mixture until chunky and well incorporated. Add avocado and chop 5 to 7 more times.
- Gather mixture together; scrape up with a spatula or bench scraper. Spread mixture onto bottom of toasted bagel and place top piece on top. Serve immediately.
Popcorn Strawberry Bars
Ingredients
- 4 cups popped popcorn
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, cut into pieces
- 1 egg white
- 1 (10 oz.) jar strawberry preserves
- 1 cups chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan; set aside.
- Process flour and confectioners’ sugar in food processor several seconds. Add butter and process until dough comes together.
- Press mixture evenly into prepared pan. Lightly brush egg white on top of the mixture. Bake 25 minutes, or until golden.
- Immediately spread preserves evenly over warm crust. Press popcorn into preserves; let cool.
- Melt chocolate chips in small zip lock freezer bag. Heat in microwave 30 seconds, or until melted.
- Snip corner of bag and drizzle chocolate over cooled popcorn.
- Cool and cut into bars.
