Twinflower – Linnaea borealis
Summer in the forest. Hopefully much cooler than in the valley. Always a special flower, Twinflower is an evergreen creeping groundcover one might call it a shrub or subshrub. However, the wiry stems stay close to the ground often forming mats. During the summer the flower stocks rise two to three inches above the ground and each stock terminates in two flowers, hence the common name.
