The Lady Eagles basketball team is playoff bound! The team had the goal to win the last two games of the season after their crucial victory over North Eugene, and they did just that. The streak began with a Feb. 24 game at Ashland where the Lady Eagles steamrolled the Grizzlies 55-17.
Eagle Point held Ashland to just three points during the opening eight minutes as they bolted out to a 19-3 lead and never looked back. It was 33-13 at the intermission and the Grizzlies scored just four points in the entire second half,
The Lady Eagles then closed out the season with a 62-15 drubbing of Churchill in a game in which the Millers never scored more than six points in any quarter. Guard Jill Garlitz led the team with 18 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Kolbie Ledbetter also had 18 points to go with 16 rebounds while teammate Karris Johnson added 13 points and contributed five steals on defense.

The team finishes third in their conference behind Springfield and Crater. Both of those teams finished 11-1 with Springfield ranked number two in the state at 22-3 and Crater ranked number four in the state at 21-4.
Boys basketball
The boys’ basketball team closed out their season with a pair of lopsided losses at Ashland and at home against Churchill. In Ashland, the Grizzlies jumped out to a 20-10 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 37-15 at the half and never looked back.

On the final game of the season, Eagle Point hosted Churchill where the Lancers jumped out to a 19-10 first quarter lead and held the Eagles to just 13 points over the final three quarters to cruise to a 56-23 win.
Eagle Point closes out the year at 1-11 in league and 3-21 overall.
