The Eagle Point High School football team traveled to Roseburg Oct. 2 to face the undefeated home team. Roseburg is one of the 6A teams playing at the 5A level as part of the new hybrid league OSAA came up with while realigning the leagues for the next four years.
The Eagle Point High School football team took on rival Crater for their homecoming game Sept. 25 in a contest that was worthy of the full moon that shown overhead. It began with the Comets fumbling away the opening kickoff and ended with a game-clinching interception in the end zone on fourth down with 15 seconds left in the game.

The OSAA has realigned the sports leagues for the next four years, and Eagle Point has every reason to be unhappy. For whatever reason yet to be explained, they have created a “hybrid league” that combines 6A and 5A schools together.
The Eagle Point baseball and softball teams made the state playoffs this year with the Lady Eagles traveling to fourth-ranked Ridgeview while the baseball team traveled to fourth-ranked Summit, both on May 26. The results were a stark contrast.
Both the Eagles’ softball and baseball teams are playoff bound after closing out the regular season following a three-game set against North Eugene where the Lady Eagles won two of the last three games to cement a spot in the state playoffs. And it didn’t come easy.

After traveling to Crater the week before and posting a win by both the Eagles and Lady Eagles, the two teams have been on a vastly different trajectories.
