The Eagle Point Neighborhood Enhancement Commission met May 4 to discuss their latest assignment from Eagle Point Mayor Kathy Sell to research a possible arch or monument near Hwy.
This coming Saturday, May 16, marks a milestone in my personal history. First, it’s the birthday of my younger brother who died in a car crash when he was 20. But it just so happens that it is also the date of the very first story I wrote as an audition for this esteemed publication.

The discussion was regarding the five Flock cameras around town photographing car license plates. Earlier this year, a local resident asked that the cameras be removed because of issues of privacy and possible misuse of the information gathered.
Well, Da Beast and I have now logged more than 3,600 miles together over the past 14 plus months and with the weather improving almost daily, it may be time for a tune-up and plans for another long-distance adventure. I have yet to determine a destination, but opportunities abound. After all, I have yet to visit the city of Rogue River, but I believe it's doable.
The Eagle Pont Planning Commission held a public hearing April 21 that was probably the quickest on record. The hearing was for a requested zoning change for three lots located at the southeast corner of Old Hwy 62 and S. Royal Rd.
Mother Nature pushed the Eagle Point High School baseball and softball teams back a day in their respective three-game sets against Thurston, but they were able to get in all three games after an initial rainout on April 21.
I really hate dealing with modern technology. It is supposed to make life easier and yet it seems to complicate things exponentially. I have cell phone service through U.S. Cellular simply because it was the only provider that gave me service north of Shady Cove.
