Medford, OR (June 24, 2026) – In honor of our nation's 250th birthday, this upcoming talk will review the events, personalities, and context of Jackson County's past American Independence celebrations. Some surprises are in store! The first lecture will take place at the Medford Library on Wednesday, July 1 at 12:00 PM. If you are unable to attend the first lecture, another will happen the following week on Wednesday, July 8 at 12:00 PM at the Ashland Library.

I can remember back to my childhood days. My home in California had been built by a gentleman whose grandmother lived in England during the area known as the Cotswold’s. So, in landscaping the grounds around the home he used plants one would find in around English homes.

Some of our oddest, prettiest, and most interesting wildplants are to found among the saprophytes (that get their nourishment from decayed or decaying plant matter) and parasites (those that pilfer their food, or most of it, from living plants).

The lake level is 1,827.43ft and the water surface temperature at Lost Creek is 75F.

My name is Jay Taylor. I was Owner/General Manager of two HVAC companies. I was President of the Newport Beach Toastmasters. After I sold my last business, I was an instructor at an adult school for 2 years.
