Slightly Tilted Kinda Shady – come for the za, stay for the gnomes

Shady Cove has a new eatery and while its name may first catch your attention, it’s the food that will have you come back time and again. It’s at the former location of Rogue River Arts and Eats, a storefront that’s now home to Slightly Tilted Kinda Shady. Located at 21850 Highway 62, Slightly Tilted Kinda Shady opened in December 2025 and serves up pizza, lasagna, salads, sweets and lots more, all packaged up for you to take and bake at home.

4-H Hop to it GEMS Club prepares for Spring Fair

The Hop to it GEMS 4-H rabbit and cavy club held its fourth meeting Tuesday, Feb. 10. The meeting started with our club leader, Deb Brown, giving roll call. After the roll call was concluded, the 4-H pledge and the Pledge of Allegiance were led by the sergeant-at-arms Matthew Butler.

Shady Cove City Council holds open hearing to hear charges against Councilor Paige Winfrey

Shady Cove City Council held an open hearing Feb. 19. Per the announcement, “In accordance with ORS 192.660(2)(b), the council will hold an “open hearing” to consider the dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer (councilor).”

Initially the meeting had been scheduled as an executive session, however Councilor Paige Winfrey requested it be held as an open hearing. The executive session was cancelled and the hearing scheduled and notice posted.

Shady Cove City Council held their regularly scheduled meeting Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. The meeting was well attended both in person at City Hall and via Zoom. Arguably most in attendance were less interested in agenda items such as “Franchise Agreements versus Rights of Way Agreements” and were more interested in the added agenda item of: Resolution 26-01 “A resolution of the city of Shady Cove concerning the censure and exclusion of a councilor from certain executive sessions held under ORS 192.660(2)(f) and ORS 192.660(2)(h).”
