Hop to it GEMS work on final preparations for Jackson County 4-H and FFA Spring Fair.

The Hop to it GEMS 4-H rabbit and cavy club has had a busy spring. The club hosted the Easter Eggstravaganza fundraiser on March 29th. Several club members brought tent canopies and tables to set up the booths and games. There was a wheel of fortune game, a merchandise stand, a food stand, a petting zoo, two Easter egg hunts, a coloring picture contest, a marshmallow counting contest, and a food stand.

Eagle Point City Council to consider taking over funding for Flock cameras

The Eagle Point City Council met April 28 to have one discussion and consider two resolutions.

The discussion was regarding the five Flock cameras around town photographing car license plates. Earlier this year, a local resident asked that the cameras be removed because of issues of privacy and possible misuse of the information gathered.

A slew of new Bigfoot sightings, on-screen and off-Broadway

(NPR) f you’ve driven in rural areas over the past few years, you’ve likely seen Bigfoot silhouettes sauntering across front lawns and on “Gone Squatchin’ ” bumper stickers. (The expression became popular after appearing on a trucker hat in a 2012 episode of Animal Planet’s reality show Finding Bigfoot.)

Eagle Point City Council meeting: Awards, goodbyes and skate parks

The city has a new project approved for the Old Fire House property after its regularly scheduled meeting held April 14. The council had previously heard two new proposals for the space the city has been trying to develop for years and voted to accept the proposal from Snyder Development which is planning a 5,600 square foot tap house and restaurant that fronts Main St. with a pair of commercial units of roughly 1,400 square feet each, one of which will be occupied by Snyder.
