Eagle Point City Council approves declarations and monies for July 4th Celebration

The Eagle Point City Council met May 12 to hold a public hearing and deal with a handful of official resolutions. The public hearing dealt with the property at the southeast corner of Old Hwy. 62 and South Royal Rd. The property, originally owned by Ed Dahack, was designated as C-2 (heavy commercial) on the Hwy. 62 side and C-1 (light commercial) on the remaining property.

The 2026 Fire Season has Begun

(ODF) As of 12:01 a.m. May 15, fire season is now in effect on lands protected by the ODF Southwest Oregon District in Jackson and Josephine counties. With this declaration, Low fire danger is now in effect, and the industrial fire precaution level (IFPL) is 1.

Hop to it GEMS work on final preparations for Jackson County 4-H and FFA Spring Fair.

The Hop to it GEMS 4-H rabbit and cavy club has had a busy spring. The club hosted the Easter Eggstravaganza fundraiser on March 29th. Several club members brought tent canopies and tables to set up the booths and games. There was a wheel of fortune game, a merchandise stand, a food stand, a petting zoo, two Easter egg hunts, a coloring picture contest, a marshmallow counting contest, and a food stand.

Eagle Point City Council to consider taking over funding for Flock cameras

The Eagle Point City Council met April 28 to have one discussion and consider two resolutions.

The discussion was regarding the five Flock cameras around town photographing car license plates. Earlier this year, a local resident asked that the cameras be removed because of issues of privacy and possible misuse of the information gathered.
